	Borderline con l'irreale Diario di viaggio in Africa - Kenia 2009 MY HOMELAND – WHERE I AM AT HOME My homeland is wherever there is a “front line”. It is the only place where I can feel alive, true … where my life has a meaning. That is why in this Symposium I would like to present my trip to Africa, a hungry, thirsty continent, Africa of colours, of smells, of music, whose key word is survival. Front lines in Western Europe are more complex. Other front lines get more vanishing in everyday life and in this context home is represented by imagination which, through painting, becomes the reality where I move.
	Patrizia Bigarella - Vita Patrizia Bigarella (1958) took her secondary school diploma, with a specialization in art, in 1978. She moved to Trieste in 1979 and from 1984 to 1988 she attended “Scuola Libera di Figura” at the Revoltella Museum under artistic supervision of Prof. Nino Perizi, as well as summer trainings organized in the Duino-Aurisina caves and at the Mouths of Timavo river. To this regard she took part in several collective exhibitions where she was appointed by critics and received national awards. Since 1989 she has been working as a drawer, taking care of the visual aspects of the work performed in the Department of Surgical Sciences Biomaterials and Bioimplants, Eye Clinic, University of Trieste. In 2007 in Vienna she was awarded with a prize for the best multimedia presentation. Since 2007 she has been attending the painting ateliers in Scuola del Vedere-Libera Accademia di Belle Arti, under artistic supervision of C.M. Feruglio, R. Busdon, A. Sofianopulo and C. Hache. Since 2008 she has been inaugurating several personal exhibitions and she has been participating in national and international collective exhibitions.
